Parbat: Hoshrangdi VDC located in the southern belt has been declared the fourth caste discrimination free VDC of the district.
The declaration was made Wednesday after the leaders and representatives of political parties, civil society, ethnic organizations and locals of the VDC pledged to eliminate caste discriminatory practices.
Members of some 411 households of the VDC were present in the declaration programme organized by National Dalit Development Organization, Hoshrangdi VDC and Dalit Rights Monitoring Alliance Hoshrangdi with the assistance of Plan Nepal and Parbat District Development Committee.
There are 63 Dalit households in the VDC. Earlier, Majphant, Falamkhani and Pakhapani were declared caste discrimination free VDCs in Parbat.
