Chitwan, November 24th 2015: Police apprehended 25 persons from the gambling dens from separate places in Bharatpur Sub-Metropolitan City on Monday. The Chitwan District Police said the police personnel confiscated Rs 792,920 on stake from the gamblers.
According to police, 19 persons were held from Bharatpur Sub-Metropolitan City-29 along with Rs 341,120 in cash while six others from Lanku area of Bharatpur Sub-Metropolitan City-5 based on a tip off.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rajan Adhikari said that investigations were underway to book them as per the Gambling Act, 2020. The police is launching is special campaign in Chitwan to make the district gambling-free.
